Tucker here, and boy do I have a tail to tell you! Actually, I’ve got a lot I want to talk with you about!
I celebrated my 1st birthday on 1/1/2025. I am seven years old in dog years. My breeder says I won’t be fully grown until June when I’m 18 months old (don’t ask me what that is in dog years … ). Wonder if I’ll get any bigger?
Right before my birthday, I visited the vet. Apparently, my stomach is extremely sensitive to beef and chicken. I don’t like fish or turkey but will tolerate salmon and will eat pork 24/7. I liked my vet … right up until she prescribed anti-allergy medication and put a cone around my neck so I’d stop scratching a sore on my tail. RUDE and HUMILIATING!!!
(That’s not me in the picture. I wouldn’t stay still long enough to snap a photo in that contraption!)
Okay, where was I? Oh, that’s right … the cone! When we got home, Bert wrapped my tail in a bandage and then took that horrible plastic thing off my neck. I soaked him with happy kisses and jumped up and down like a pogo stick!
I’m better now but I miss the meatloafs and burger patties Bert made for me. Erma mixes coconut oil in all my food, but I’m not crazy about my limited food choices. If anyone has any suggestions for good healthy food, I’m listening! Please leave me a comment and I’ll pass it on to my people! :)
There’s some good news in all of this. I weigh 85 lbs, which means I’ve gained 30 lbs in the last four months. Other than food allergies (and that hideous cone), my vet says I’m healthy! …I could’ve told her that! Ha! :)
Here I am with one of my Christmas presents! I love to make it squeak, and it’s fantastic to play fetch with. It’s especially fun to take to bed with me. My crate is in Bert and Erma’s bedroom. So, if I wake up in the middle of the night and am bored, I just roll over on my blue buddy. Then, I’m not the only one who can’t sleep!
I’ve learned that Bert and Erma are not fans of cold weather. I say BRING IT! I’ll admit, when morning temperatures are 25° or less, I don’t want to stay outside. But anything above 32° is refreshing. Add a bit of sunshine and I’m good to go! I’m not sure why they don’t feel the same but I’m willing to give them some grace. After all, not everyone has their very own fur coat!
Well, until next time, happy tails to you!
Thanks for keeping us up to date on what's going on with Tucker.Duncan wasn't thrilled with his vet appointment either because he got stuck in a cage to get there, and then he got stuck with needles! Not fun!
